Luxor International Airport (LXR)
History, Facts and Overview

(Luxor, Egypt)

An established airport, meeting increasing demands for growth, Luxor International Airport was built next to the desert and the suburb of Al Hubayl. Located on the far easterly outskirts of the city, Luxor Airport quickly grew in stature and was recently upgraded in 2005 to accommodate more passengers, meeting future growth projections.

Currently, the airport comprises eight separate check-in desks, five gateways, a business centre, duty-free shopping and several good eateries, amongst many other amenities within the transit area.

Luxor Airport is situated near the 02 Highway, which follows the east bank of the River Nile, while there is also a direct road link from the airport to Luxor. Buses ply the route to the city, along with taxis, which make a comfortable alternative.
